For years I have always wanted to open up an Etsy Shop! Well today is the day! I'm launching Sue K Studio!
As many of you know, I love crafting, creating and coloring outside the lines (no rules)! As long as I can remember I have been drawn to many forms of arts & crafts from weaving (remember those potholder kits?) and rock painting as a young child to jewelry making, photography and repurposing furniture as I grew older. Lately mixed media has been calling my heart. I love, love mixed media! For me, it’s a combination of so many techniques I adore such as stamping, stencils, decoupage, painting and the use of inspiring mantras!

I enjoy creating art that makes people happy (it also makes me happy)! I strongly believe in the power of art and the emotional connection and impact art has on all of us.
I'm not quitting my day job (career) any time soon however I enjoy being a hungry sales & marketing hotelier by day and a starving artist by night! For those who know me I can stay up for hours and hours crafting in my studio (aka basement). It fuels my creative fire and feeds my curious imagination.
All of my artwork is one of a kind and shares an inspiring story behind the loving layers of paint, ink, vintage paper, stencils and other playful mediums. Within the layers a signature “happy heart” is added to the whimsy canvas. Sometimes you can see it on the canvas and other times I hide it deep in the work of art. The heart is symbolic of my continued passion which is creating ‘happy heart art” for all to enjoy.

I want thank everyone who has inspired me to be creative and experiment with art in a crazy sort of way. I was fortunate enough to discover my love for art very young in life thanks to my wonderful mom who always encouraged me to discover and play with all kinds of art projects growing up. She took notice of the light inside me that would shine bright when given the opportunity to create and she nurtured my light throughout my childhood years - thanks mom!
A sincere thank you to my awesome hubby, family, amazing circle of friends and creative work peeps who "get" me and my "sickness" (LOL). All of you have given me the confidence to let my art out and just go for it!
Lastly be sure to check out my Etsy Shop often for other fab finds. I'm a curious artist and often have a sudden impulse to late night create, repurpose something basic or add a little "fresh" to a vintage piece which I will frequently add to my etsy shop.
