Hello E-Trenders! Are you ready for the upcoming holidays?
We want to share a really easy DIY wreath idea that we created for the upcoming Festival of Trees event located in Rochester, Michigan.
We used the same DIY concept featured on a previous EventTrender post here with a few modifications…
Instead of a Styrofoam wreath base we selected a base made from straw. You can pick one up at any local craft store.
It’s important to cover the wreath with felt by simply pinning the felt to the straw wreath.
Next – select all kinds of lace and shimmery holiday fabric and cut in strips (18-22 inches long). Keep in mind ribbon works well and also textured yarn.
Tie the strips around the wreath and knot in front.
We re-purposed some vintage broaches found at a local resale shop.
Okay now… pin the broaches to the wreath creating a focal point. Feathers, fabric flower pins and other whimsical swag can also be added to the design.
Make sure the entire wreath is covered with fabric and ribbon. Just trim any excess off the ends and there you have it – a picture perfect DIY wreath just in time for the season!
Look at these lovies!
By the way E-Trenders do you see the wreath on the right? We plan to gift this to one lucky E-Trender! All you need to do is comment on this post or share it on social media and tag EventTrender! One random winner will be selected and announced on Monday, November 10!

This is a wonderful use for Grandmas costume jewelry. I made a similar wreath for my Mom after my Gram passed away, a gift she cherishes. Works great with pieces that have broken clasps or missing a jewel or single earrings!
