We recently had a friendly (or more like highly competitive) gingerbread house contest at the Royal Park Hotel. Each department embraced the task of building their very own gingerbread house and all teams decided to take the construction to an entirely new level! That's what happens when you work with a group of crazy talented people who have a passion for gingerbread!
Our sales department wanted to conquer and dominate! Check out some behind the scenes gingerbread fever...
Michelle Groth (Location Supervisor) hosted the construction site in her home. The team worked on plans prior to the building day and purchased all the sweet materials. We placed a chalkboard runner on the work table and created a construction zone filled with candy, cookies, frosting and sprinkles.
Jared Kovacs (aka Design Director) crafted stained glass windows using fruit roll-ups.
Here is our finished gingerbread house complete with a Hershey kiss roof and coconut snow.
Check out some of the other gingerbread houses - the competition was fierce!
Needless to say the Pastry Team took first place! I think the rock candy chimney sealed the deal!
Great idea Chef Mark and Team!
Cheers to a job well done by all and congrats to the Royal Park Hotel Pastry Team!
