Does your family fight over the wishbone E-Trenders?
Known as a "lucky break" the tradition of pulling on either side of a turkey bone to win the larger piece and its accompanying "wish" dates back to the Etruscans of 322 B.C. The Romans brought the tradition with them when they conquered England and the English colonists carried the tradition on to America.
We have taken this tradition and added a sweet twist!
Chocolate Wishbone Favors!
We purchased the wishbone chocolate molds here. The molds can also be found at your local candy supply store. Fill dark chocolate in each wishbone mold.
Once the molds are filled with chocolate, let them chill-out in the refrigerator until the chocolate is solid. Add a white chocolate design on top and allow the chocolate to set again.
Next take two wishbones and one piece of rolled caramel which you can purchase at a candy supply store or make your own. Check out a great caramel EventTrender recipe here. Flip the wishbone over and place the caramel on top of the wishbone. Place the second wishbone on top and use the caramel to "glue" both pieces together.
ET Tip: to avoid breakage handle with care when pressing both chocolate wishbones together.
Now for the tags! We found this stamp kit at Target (here) and the felt leaves were purchased at a local craft store.
Place the wishbones in cellophane bags and tie with ribbon or natural twine. Place at each tablesetting for your family and friends to enjoy on Thanksgiving!
E-Trenders we wish all of you a wonderful Thanksgiving filled with family, friends, love and laughter. We are thankful for all of you and for the EventTrender support we have received over the past few years!
Happy Thanksgiving,
Sue and Angela
