Hello E-Trenders! Back by popular demand...
More Halloween DIY tricks! We are also excited to announce a spooktacular contest treat for our ET subscribers and FB fans!.
This Haunted Halloween Bark is super easy to make and perfect for a favor take-away or a colorful sweet treat on a dessert table.
Haunted Halloween Bark "How To"
Prep Time: 15 minutes
Total Time: 15 minutes
Ingredients:
Three cups of milk or dark chocolate candy melts
1 1/4 cups of candy corn
½ cup of orange and yellow sprinkles
1 1/4 cup Reese’s Pieces or M&M's (use Halloween colors)
Preparation:
- Prepare a cookie sheet and line with parchment paper.
- In separate bowl, melt chocolate in the microwave or over a double boiler.
- Pour the chocolate onto the lined sheet. Using a spoon or spatula, smooth the chocolate out in an even layer about ¼ inches thick. It does not have to cover the entire pan.
- Sprinkle candy and sprinkles over the melted wet chocolate until completely covered.
- Put the chocolate in the refrigerator for 30 minutes to harden.
- When the bark is firm, remove it from the parchment paper and break it into pieces.
ET Trick: You can use other types of Halloween candy – feel free to get creative with the bark. Once the chocolate is covered with candy tap the pan on the counter a few times (lightly). This will help the candy set in place.
Check out this monster-mash popcorn! We used the same DIY recipe posted here and melted orange chocolate instead of pink!
ET Trick: Serve popcorn and other snacks in tall and short martini glasses. It's user friendly for guests to "grab and go" and takes the snack presentation to the next level!
Place the popcorn martini glasses on top of a shadow box with a decorative piece of scrapbook paper (inside). Layer a black felt spiderweb on top of the shadow box. We found the spiderweb at Pier 1 Imports.
The ET gals added Halloween sprinkles and cashews to the monster-mash popcorn for a spooky sweet & salty flavor.
ET Trick: After you place the chocolate coated popcorn on wax paper, add nuts and sprinkles - let cool.
